This workshop will cover the basics of communicating with a speech generating device.  Topics covered will include types of devices and how they are used; when you need to get one; voice banking and message banking; software for a speech generating device and/or your tablet; free and low cost communication software; Apps for an android and iPad, and windows 8 computer; low or no tech communication strategies; and the current Medicare status for obtaining a device through Medicare.  Hands on trials with speech devices will be available.  We will once again meet at the CTEC office located at: 1010 HURLEY WAY #180, Sacramento, CA  95825.  Please join us for this informative workshop made possible through funding from the Disability Communications Fund.
