Mark Tan PhotoMission: To improve the quality of life for people with ALS (PALS) and their families by strategically funding critical programs and initiatives that advance care services.

History: Mark Tannenbaum was formally diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in December 2015 at age 54. Adored for his humorous, outgoing personality and cherished for his authentic character and unselfish dedication to others, this reliable and dear friend to many was now the one in need of support.

Shocked and devastated by the debilitating and terminal consequences of the disease, a close circle of longtime friends quickly rallied to stand by his side and provide moral support. Straight away, Mark and his family encountered stressful financial and healthcare challenges, and this empathetic group soon learned that many families affected by ALS struggle to find adequate funding to meet their overwhelming care needs – often in the face of financial ruin.

In October 2016, “Team Tannenbaum” officially partnered with The ALS Association in Mark’s hometown of Sacramento, California to establish PALS 4 Life and began raising funds to support care service programs and initiatives for all ALS patients and their families … in honor of their good buddy, Mark - one of their best PALS.

Purpose:  PALS 4 Life seeks to holistically support those affected by ALS by providing direct financial support through a responsive grant program intended to address (1) in-home care, (2) transportation needs, and (3) subsidizing medical mobility equipment, and augmentative speech device loan closet endeavors.

How you can help:  PALS 4 Life is funded by champions like you who seek to drive change and improve outcomes for ALS patients and their families. Your contribution to The ALS Association in support of PALS 4 Life will help us provide vital assistance programs and provide care services to as many PALS as we can reach.
